Pneuborn-13 is a humanoid robot that was created for research purposes by Hosoda Lab and Osaka University; its sister is Pneuborn-7ii. These robo-babies are both used to study and clarify the role of embodiment and the musculoskeletal system. However, Pneuborn-13 is focused on the study of the development of bipedal walking. For this reason, researchers based the robot on a 13-month old baby, as a baby learns how to walk around this age.
