  • Polaris robot is a new mobile phone-robot developed through the collaboration of KDDI and Flower Robotics. The robot has a new concept; to acquire a user’s daily activities and behaviors.  Then Polaris robot uses TV to communicate these observations to the user, most of the time offering advice and comments. The robot sports a cradle for handheld mobile phones, and is programmed to open up when the cell phone is nearby. Polaris robot automatically charges the phone and accesses the recent data gathered by the handheld unit. The robot can respond physically through the use of lights, sounds, and movement. The robot’s built-in sensors detect magnets placed in the corners of the table, preventing any accidental falls. Polaris robot looks like a cool box inside an egg shell.

    Features:

    • Advanced artificial intelligence that allows the robot to formulate advice and comments for the user
    • Smart enough to gather all necessary data about the user’s daily activities and behaviors
    • Offers state-of-the-art technology that allows the robot to communicate using the TV
    • Has handheld cradle programmed to open up automatically when cellphones are detected nearby
    • Can access data from mobile phones
    • Can respond physically using movements, sounds, and light
    • Excellent sensors that prevent the robot from wandering beyond table’s edges
    • Sleek design with the new concept of a box inside an egg
