The RIDC-01 is capable of doing various household tasks like vacuuming, dusting, giving entertainment and is also able to report or give news and messages when the owner is away.

When pre-programmed, this robot can clean a house independently utilizing a path-finding algorithm to navigate around the area of the house. The RIDC-01 also comes with an internal vacuum cleaner, allowing it to suck dust and dirt as it traverses. It is also equipped with dusters which are attached to its hands, dusting the surrounding it passes by.

One of the interesting functions of the RIDC-01 is that it can project movies from its head onto a screen. It has the ability to listen and recognize voice commands, and even respond back. Although this robot is rather big and heavy, weighing almost 100 Kg, the Japanese company guarantees that it can do its jobs just fine.
