Robot X is a wheeled security robot designed by Secom in 2005. Robot X fulfills the role of a robotic guard by making pre-programmed scheduled rounds in an assigned area. It can record videos and capture still images.
Using various sensors, it can also trigger security alerts by detecting intruders, suspicious vehicles, theft, and even fire. Once it discovers something unusual in the normal environment, Robot X sends an alert to a base station. Human guards then have the option to operate Robot X wirelessly. However, a separate antenna is required for wireless connectivity.
