  • Developed and created by the Japanese robotic company, JSK Laboratories of the University of Tokyo in 1996, this small research-based, remote-brained humanoid robot is capable of learning movement through the use of a puppet. It can even approach and kick a ball.

    The Akira robot is equipped with a CCD camera, which is mounted on its head. It has a 16 Degree Of Freedom, or DOF. This humanoid robot stands at 1.5 inches and weighs 4.9lbs.
