  • BHR 2 is the second humanoid robot created by Beijing Institute of Technology in 2005. The project was funded and monitored by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. BHR 2, also known as ‘Huitong’, is the enhanced version of BHR 1.

Like BHR 1, Huitong is designed to withstand intense work environments that are risky for humans. In the future, BHR 2 may be used to perform activities in barren, toxic-polluted or terrorist-infested lands. BHR 2 stands at 5 feet 1 inch and weighs 167 pounds.

The only thing that makes it a bit different from the previous version - BHR 1 robot - is that it can play with a real Chinese sword. Although both robots can do a variety of ‘Tai Chi’ moves, BHR 2 is famous for its performance of the ancient Chinese martial art of ‘Taijiquan’.
