Yoshihiro Shibata of Team Lilac has never stopped resting on the comforts of his past achievements. With the victories reaped by his fighting robot, Black Seed, improvements were made and paved the way for the birth of Black Blade.

Black Blade inherited the flexibility and strategy of Black Seed, as well as its effective use of grippers. Smoother operation, an improved torque, and wider rotational range of movement were also implemented. The wire routing of the servo was improved. Analog gyros were incorporated to maintain the robot’s stability.

Black Blade managed to finish fourth place in the ROBO-One 10 competition when it was defeated by King Kizer, which eventually grabbed the championship. Although it did not take home the top spot, it did fairly well in showing that robots can always be enhanced and improved.
