  • Bogobot is actually the name of a team of humanoid developers at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico. It has been participating in Robocup competitions since 2007; however in 2008, the team started to release prototype robots that also carried the name Bogobot for the purpose of easier association with their school. That same year, Bogobot Prototype I became their entry to the prestigious Robocup.

Bogobot is a humanoid designed and built from two smaller robot prototypes – Robonova and LynxMotion, also developed by the team from Tecnologico de Monterrey. Carrying some of the features and characteristics of these smaller prototype robots, Bogobot is equipped with a camera, an electronic compass, and a central processor.

The developers also imposed algorithms, giving Bogobot the capacity for bipedal walking. High-level actions, such as recognizing an orange ball and moving directly to it and kicking it, were also integrated.
