The Seoul Museum of Natural History, through the South Korean robotic company Corebell Company, has developed a professional guide robot that can be deployed or used at museums and exhibition halls or corridors.

This robot is called the Docent Robot System 2, or simply Docent 2. The Docent 2 can help provide information by displaying it to visitors and patrons. Aside from its original purpose of being a professional guide, this wheeled service robot can be programmed to control lighting, sensors, and communication systems within the vicinity.

A remote control station system was created to integrate the manipulation of multimedia contents and the Docent 2 robot itself. This Korean guide robot has 550 x 550 x 1200 millimeter dimensions and weighs approximately 60 kilograms. A camera allows it to see and recognize objects and faces, and it is also equipped with 12 ultra-sonic sensors, 1 gyroscope, and 12 PSD.

The company hopes that this robot will eventually find its way into not only museums and exhibits, but also public and private offices.

    Features:

    • 2 wheeled-robot
    • Camera and 12 ultrasonic sensors
    • Communication systems
    • Gyroscope
