  • E1 is a humanoid robot developed by Honda in 1987. It is the early prototype of Honda’s E series robots and is designed to walk faster.

    It has added flexibility with 12 degrees of freedom compared to the older E0 robot. Weighing 72 kilograms and standing at 128.8 centimeters, E1 robot can walk at a speed of 0.25 kilometers per hour.

    The experimental model E1 also appears bulkier than the previous E0 robot.

    Features:

    • Added flexibility with its 12 degrees of freedom: 3 in each of the groins, 1 in each of the knees, and 2 in each of the ankles
    • Faster stride than the previous version and a speed of 0.25 kilometer per hour
