E Series : E 2

E2 is a prototype humanoid robot developed by Honda in 1989 and is the second experimental model next to E1 robot. E2 is a biped humanoid robot with faster walking capability than the first prototype E1 robot.

Weighing 67.7 kilograms and standing at 132 centimeters, E2 can walk with a speed of 1.2 kilometer per hour using Honda’s ‘Dynamic Movement’ while imitating the way a human walks.

Features:

• 12 degrees of freedom for walking flexibility - 3 for each groin, 1 for each knee, and 2 for each ankle
• Utilizes Honda’s ‘Dynamic Movement’ for a walking speed of 1.2 km/hour
