  • E4 is a prototype humanoid robot developed by Honda in 1991. The biped E4 robot underwent a few changes that allowed it to have a faster speed of 4.7 kilometers per hour. Honda increased the length of E4 robot’s knee to achieve faster walking speed.

    Weighing 150 kilograms and standing at 159.5 centimeters, E4 robot offers walking flexibility with its 12 degrees of freedom. Its onboard bulky controller comes with a red cover this time.

    Features:

    • 12 degrees of freedom (3 for each groin, 1 for each knee, and 2 for each ankle) permits flexible walking despite its heavy weight
    • Faster stride at 4.7 km/hour which is more than the average human walking speed
    • Built-in red cover for its onboard computer
