    Gandalf is a communicative humanoid robot that can converse with humans in real time. It is a machine that is capable of replacing a person in an interactive conversation that has a lot of sensory data on it. It is capable of conversing through voice and other multiple modes.

    Gandalf is also adept in the field of astronomy and the solar system. It is also skillful in answering user-initiated questions about the topic using normal human speech and movement.

    This MIT Media Lab robot employed an architectural structure called the Ymir, which focuses on the computational model of human psychological dialogue skills. With the Ymir, the developer is having a relatively easy time modifying and experimenting with various mental procedures and behavioral rules on the Gandalf robot.
