In June of 2000, the Aircraft and Mechanical Systems divisions of Japan’s Kawada Industries finished construction of its Perception-Action Integrated Humanoid Robot – the H6 robot. H6 was the company’s first prototype of such a robot.

Its main purpose is to ensure that human-shaped robots are well-suited to operate in real human environments. Standing at 53 inches (137 centimeters) tall and 23 inches (59 centimeters) wide, this robot is relatively compact and light. It weighs only 121 lbs (55 kilograms) with batteries.

This robot’s joints are powered by DC motors and Harmonic drive gears. The H6 humanoid robot is connected to a network via wireless Ethernet interface, allowing the robot to operate without the aid of external cables.

    Features:

    • 35 Degrees of Freedom (DOF)
    • PC with dual Pentium III-750Mhz processor
    • RT-Linux for real-time servo and balance compensation
    • 3D vision with head-mounted camera
    • Wireless Ethernet interface
