  • Developmental Robotics Lab of Iowa State University has developed a humanoid robot much like a 2 year old boy. The researchers called it unnamed humanoid or "UH" and it has been taught the properties of its surroundings during its early stage of development.

It also performs procedural learning; it identifies objects from the sounds they make when being pushed, touched, held, and shaken. Iowa humanoid can manoeuvre objects in many different ways.

Without any sensor attached, UH is very good at identifying objects that are introduced to them, with 99% accuracy. Iowa humanoid has two Barrett Whole Arm Manipulators for arms, with three-fingered hands, and is built with custom-designed head with stereo vision.

    Features:

    • Capable of simple emotional expression
    • Can perform a variety of grasping motions
