  • A three dimensional bipedal walking robot was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Leg laboratory. This robot has 12 Degrees of Freedom and is called the M2.

This robot will be used to probe into various walking algorithms, motion descriptions, control methods like Virtual Model Control or VMC, force actuation techniques like Series Elastic Actuation, and the automatic learning styles.

MIT’s goal in making the M2 robot is to make a fast, efficient, reliable walking robot that must have a good sense of stability. Additionally, it should be strong enough to withstand small disturbances, look confident and should not break down when used.

    M2 Features:

    • Frameless actuator
    • Bipedal robot
    • Series elastic actuation
    • Sensors
