P3
The P3 is the third prototype humanoid robot in Honda’s P-series. It was completed in September, 1997. It stands 160cm and weighs 130kg with 28 DOF. Its walking speed is 2 km/hr and it has a maximum workload of 2 kg/hand. The P3 can continuously operate for up to 25 minutes. It has a height of 1,600mm and a weight of 130kg.
The P3 is a good deal smaller than the previous models. A different material was used in order to achieve this and the control system had to be decentralized. The P3 is also the first completely independent two-legged humanoid walking robot.
