While the age of the dinosaurs is long gone, there are some things about these giant creatures that are just so appealing to our imaginations. This appeal prompted the Ugobe Company of the USA to design the baby robotic dinosaur PLEO in 2006. The company later sold the PLEO design, and its manufacturing was continued by Jetta.

PLEO resembles a cute baby camarasaurus. The dinosaur choice was based on the stocky build of these prehistoric animals. It allowed the designers to pack more advanced features inside the robot toy. The dinosaur robot’s design is a combination of neuronetics, sensory features, and articulation that are intended to make a realistic presence with a blend of adaptability and natural motion. High-tech sensors are integrated into the robot, making it a very convincing life-like dinosaur. Moreover, one can upgrade the robot by using a USB interface or an SD card.
