A year after the original Robosapien was released, WowWee launched Robosapien V2. The second Robosapien was designed to be an evolved version of the original biomorphic robot. With this release, the robotic personality and functionality of the humanoid have been greatly improved.
Robosapien V2 can perform the original actions of Robosapien plus a couple of new ones like martial arts, bending, sitting, standing, and waving. These actions are possible because of the robot’s multiple gaits, which give it the capacity for true bipedal walking. Its gripping abilities have been improved because of its new, more flexible fingers. Now it can also turn its head with a 2-axis capacity.
Robosapien V2 has been given animated LED eyes, and has been upgraded to include an additional 100 functions. It has IR vision that allows it to avoid obstacles and track moving objects along its way. The robot can hear sounds and react to them through its sound sensors. Robosapien V2 can even recognize colors as well as skin tones. Its speech capabilities have been increased, giving it the ability to verbally respond to various stimuli.
