  • The Autonomous Intelligent Systems Group at the NimbRo Laboratory of the University of Bonn developed a humanoid robot called Robotinho. The original purpose of development of Robotinho was to compete in the RoboCup Humanoid League Teen Size Division. Later it was equipped with an expressive head, a movable camera, a laser scanner and ultrasonic distance sensors. So the developers decided to use it for more purposes.

To prove its worth, the Robotinho humanoid was utilized to investigate intuitive multimodal communication with people in a museum, for which it acted as a robot tour guide. The robot stands at 110 cm and weighs 6 Kg. With its eight multidirectional wheels, the Robotinho can move in any directions with relative ease.

As a soccer-playing robot, this eight-wheeled humanoid robot was tasked to kick the ball at the Penalty Kick finals.

    Robotinho Features:

    • Movable camera
    • Laser scanner
    • Ultrasonic distance sensor
    • Eight wheeled robot
    • Speakers and microphone
