The National University of Singapore created a newer version of their RoPE II robot called the RoPE III. This robot has more mechanical modifications compared to its predecessor which allows it to perform much better.
It continued its PC-104 brain that manipulates its movement. Its developers also continued the software that they had installed on the RoPE II robot. Standing at 58 cm and weighing 3.3 Kg, this humanoid robot has 18 Degrees of Freedom (DOF).
Its body is made up of aluminium materials. Several sensors were integrated on this robot making it more efficient. A gyro and compass were installed on this robot allowing it to find its location, balance itself and enable it to accurately know where it is heading. This gives the robot a sense of direction.
