WABIAN-RIV
The Humanoid Robotics Institute at the Waseda University developed a prototype humanoid robot model in 1997. The Wabian-RIV is a humanoid robot that is part of HRI’s ongoing research into its quest of landing a bipedal walking robot.
The Wabian-RIV is the predecessor of the Wabian-2 humanoid robot, which the Japanese firm built and developed. This humanoid robot can walk backward, sideways, and forward. It can also dance, carry loads, and can even express basic emotions similar to a human being.
