Short for Robot for Personal Entertainment, RoPE IV is the latest version of the series of humanoid robots made by the National University of Singapore, which they hope to put in the soccer humanoid league. RoPE IV, together with its immediate predecessor RoPE III, was the realization of their goal to have a team of humanoid robots that can play soccer, but with intelligence.
Unlike its predecessors, this robot now has a microcontroller board in lieu of the PC-104, making it lighter and faster. With the advanced technology installed in this soccer-playing humanoid robot, it can recognize, approach and kick the ball in a more advanced way.
