ROTI is a telepresence robot developed by the Korean Institute of Science and Technology in 2009. It is designed to help teachers to teach English in areas where native English speakers and educators are inadequate.
The English-teaching robot aid utilizes a hardware composed of mobile and video communication parts. The mobile part is comprised of two wheels controlled by the main controller. The video communicator part consists of a camera, speaker, microphone, and monitor. This robot gives real-time English lessons, while it is remotely-controlled.
