Spykee Cell is a build-it-yourself robot from Meccano, which was released in 2009. The robot sports a great look and a wide assortment of functions admired by robot enthusiasts and gadget-loving people.

Spykee Cell is fully-controllable through a cellular phone. This means that its functions can be dictated by the user through the controls installed on a corresponding mobile phone through Bluetooth wireless technology.

Among the functions performed by this robot are its capabilities to move and take pictures. Through its Bluetooth technology, it can transmit what it sees with its built-in digital camera to the user’s cell phone screen. It can be controlled to take pictures of the environment it roams around and transmit them back to the user’s cell phone.

Spykee Cell can serve as a charging and docking station for an iPod. Again, with the use of the controller’s cell phone, it can transmit the iPod’s playlist to the cell phone screen where the playlists can be controlled. The robot works with some other mp3 players, but with some restrictions to its functions.

Spykee Cell can also serve as a communications headset for your cell phone. Through its voice deformation technology, the user’s voice can be warped and deformed when desired.
