  • JSK Laboratories, an affiliate of the University of Tokyo, built a small four-legged robot back in 1994. This robot, designed by the laboratory, has 12 degrees of freedom.

    The TAMA has a camera mounted on its head to see and send necessary visual data. The camera allows this robot to navigate through different terrain and obstacles.

    The TAMA can also get an object, like a ball, using the graspers that are mounted to it. The robot, with its feet, acts like a dog while still maintaining its robotic features.
