  • The JSK Laboratory of the University of Tokyo developed a four-legged robot with 12 Degrees of freedom (DOF) called TAMA II. This four-legged machine is the descendent of the TAMA robot or Ball-Boy robot. It comes with some enhancements and made its debut in 1995 - a year after the TAMA was developed.

Just like the former version, this four-legged machine has a camera mounted on its head allowing it to see and send visual data, and letting it navigate through various terrains. This Japanese robot can also recognize and grasp an object, mainly due to the grasper mounted on its front. Its wheels mimic a dog's legs while maintaining its robotic characteristics.

    TAMA II Features:

    • Camera
    • Object recognition
    • Wheeled robot
    • Graspers as hands
