  • David Buckley designed an educational biped robot called the TecFoot. It is aimed to help those who are new to electronics and robotics. Standing at 63cm (2 feet) and weighing 1.6 Kg, TecFoot has five servos allowing it to perform bipedal walking and turning.

It is mainly powered by a 9-volt battery while four AA cells power its servo power. This robot can walk by shifting its weight from one foot and makes a stride, then shifts its weight to the other foot, making its next step.

Since Buckley aimed this robot for beginners, assembling the kit is very easy. With a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and some wood glue, one can easily assemble the control board.

    TecFoot Features:

    • Biped robot
    • Capable of bipedal walking and turning
    • Five servomotors
    • Microchip Technology Inc. PIC16C57 controller
