  • Terranaut II is a robotic exploration vehicle created by Seth Weiner. This art project is a fish powered vehicle, a first of its kind.

This special fish powered vehicle has a camera mounted above the fish tank. It tracks and monitors the motions and movements of the fish and sends back the information to a computer. The computer processes it, which drives the robot vehicle in the direction of the movement of the fish.

In simpler terms, if the fish swims to the left, the vehicle moves to the left and if the fish swims to the right, the vehicle goes to the right. The wheels located at the bottom of the vehicle can move in any direction and is controlled by the on-board computer. The Terranaut II robot vehicle can travel with a speed of 1 mile per hour.

    Terranaut II Features:

    • Camera mounted fish tank
    • Omni directional wheels
    • On-board computer
    • Fish powered robot vehicle
