  • Festo, a German industrial control and automation company, developed a blue-skinned servo-pneumatic robot to show to the world its mastery over air-powered machines. The Tron-X is a robot that has 200 cylinders that are carefully calibrated, allowing it to have almost human-like actions and even facial expressions which are seemingly human.

This robot was put on display at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation station as part of the company’s presentation at the CeBIT 2006 held in Hanover, Germany. This robot is so special that it can mimic human actions and follow the gestures of the people who watch it during the 2006 expo.

    Features:

    • Equipped with 3D camera sensors
    • Can accurately reproduce human gestures
    • 200 calibrated cylinders
