  • Taiwan’s Precision Machinery created a tour guide robot called Upitor. It was featured at Taiwan’s Economy Exhibition in 2008. The Taiwan based company has created this multi-functional guide robot and has fully integrated its mechanical, electrical, communication and control functions.

    Standing at 140cm with a width of 60cm, this Taiwanese guide robot weighs approximately 140 Kg. Despite its size and weight, it can give complete guiding services through its guiding contents, which is defined by the user.

    Multiple sensors are installed allowing the Upitor to locate its position accurately and has an advanced avoidance function, allowing it to navigate autonomously and avoid any obstacles that it may encounter in its path.

    With the ten motors that this Taiwanese robot has, its head and hands can move skilfully. With its LED eyes and sophisticated exterior design, the Upitor is truly a guide robot that one can marvel about.
