People allergic to cat fur can still pet the feline species; thanks to the initiative of Sega. In 2009, the Japan-based company released Dream Cat Venus, a simulated pet with various robotic capabilities.

Venus is equipped with various touch sensors on its forehead and body, giving it the ability to react to human touch when it’s cared for or caressed as a real pet. Sega Toys managed to incorporate more life-like attributes to it, such as the ability to purr when the owner speaks certain words.

With its advanced features, Venus is a robotic cat ideal for possession by children and adults alike who want a pet, a toy, or a companion rolled into one.

    Features of Venus:

    • Speech recognition
    • Responds to human touch
    • Real cat appearance
    • Non-allergenic
    • Absent of eating time and vet visits
    • Can be left alone for days or weeks without being lonely
