WABIAN R-II
Originally built in 1996 by the Human Robotics Institute at the Waseda University as a prototype model humanoid robot, the Wabian R-II was further revised and was constructed in 2000, hence the name.
This humanoid robot is the predecessor of Wabian 2, and has 43 degree mechanical DOF. Wabian R-II weighs about 127kg and stands at 1.84m. This bipedal humanoid robot uses Duralumin, GIGAS, and CFRP as its main materials. Torque sensors are attached on its ankles, allowing developers to measure ground reaction forces.
