WABIAN R-III
The Waseda University of Japan has developed a family of humanoid robots - the WABIAN family of humanoids. WABIAN, which stands for WAseda BIpedal HumANoid, is a 1.66m tall robot that weighs 107kg. After the success of the earlier version, the Japanese company decided to create a more refined version of the WABIAN-2, and dubbed it as the WABIAN R-III.
This prototype humanoid model robot was created at the Humanoid Robotics Institute of the above mentioned university. This is part of the university’s ongoing research about bipedal walking robots. Compared to its predecessor, this Japanese humanoid robot stands at 1.88m and hits the scale at 130kg. Just like the rest of the WABIAN robots, this version can also walk sideways, front, and back, dance, carry heavy loads, and can even show basic emotions.
