Imagine a robot that can fetch weather updates for 72 hours, for more than 2,300 cities, with the use of a voice command over a microphone. Fudan University’s Weather Robot 1 is able to tell you what the weather is in Beijing right now, what temperature it is, and what to expect today.
Researchers, through this 150cm tall robot, are looking for ways to allow this robot to give an even more detailed response in the future. This service robot can roam around using its ultrasonic sensors and display emoticons at its LED array. Aside from giving you weather updates, the Weather Robot 1 can also answer pop quizzes.
