Aside from its Wever R1, Korea’s Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, or ETRI, created a smaller companion robot that was dubbed the Wever C1.

This small robot is meant to be a home surveillance robot. It detects any break-ins, gas leaks, fires, or burglaries by rolling around the house or office. When this robot detects any irregularities, it warns the owner by sending an SMS or text message. Furthermore, this robot can warn the owner if suspected personalities are detected through its facial or voice recognition capabilities, sending the video reports to its user remotely.

Though the Wever C1 is relatively small, its size does not deter it from helping in rescue missions, fire sites, and areas where human intervention is impossible or may pose a risk to humans.
