And seeing as Elena is valuable for them, they are in the process of using Wes' resources to find a cure for her virus, she also says that them have to find something, Stefan ask what do they need and Sloan say another one of him. It was also during this time that Stefan became human again when Bonnie gave him the cure after he killed Enzo as he struggled with his guilt he planned to leave Caroline until he realized he wanted to spend what years he had left as a human with her.
